About Jen
That’s Jen on the left, unfiltered, unconventional and unadulterated!
I am a life student and have spent the majority of my life to the service of teaching, promoting and providing natural health services everywhere I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing life. My journey started at birth being born into a family of natural medicine. My grandfather was a Taoist shaman and my father was a doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine. I grew up with the understanding that food is medicine and that everything is energetically based.
Jen’s Philosophy
This holistic mindset was natural to me and I’m shocked at how disconnected so many people are from understanding health and our role in it. I believe that if we take back autonomy of our health, we can change the world and solve its major crises. For example we have drug/chemical companies ruling society with bought politics, economics and “healthcare” with poisons that leach into the soil, water, air and tissues of all us dependent organisms. These chemicals make us fat, sick, stupid or addicted, and disempower us from living optimally. We’re left ignorant, in a place of apathy, confusion, overwhelm, despair and constant stress. In this state, it is impossible to imagine wanting something better. But if we could just see what an amazing, beautiful life we could create for ourselves and generations after, there might be motivation enough to get out of the comatose or unconscious conditioning. It starts with taking charge of your health!
Jen’s formal training and education
I started my formal education in natural medicine with herbology. I studied Clinical Herbology (1998), biochemistry and nutrition from Dominion Herbal College and went further to study Chinese and Indian herbology with TCM and Ayurvedic theories, diagnostics and treatment. Then I studied and practiced Massage Therapy (2001). I got my first Hatha Yoga TT (2005) and continued to study and upgrade many physical therapeutic techniques throughout the years. These include aromatherapy, shiatsu, craniosacral therapy, myofascial release, cupping, guasha, moxibustion, acupressure, Thai yoga stretching, Bodytalk, Qigong massage, Yoga Therapy (2015) and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga TT (2016) . While practicing all techniques “physical”, I knew I had to dive deeper into the psychology and mindset of a person’s illness and so I studied Hypnotherapy (2008) and Neurolinguistics Programming (2009). I became a certified Life Coach (2015)to really integrate the mind body approach. Spiritually, it’s all about living on purpose. You must know who you are (connect with spirit) in order to live your best life. After going through a divorce and being scattered with my purpose, I studied Nursing (2009). Very quickly I felt my spirit was not happy with me robotically checking patient files, taking vitals and administering drugs. I felt like a technician for “sick-care”. I took a little break from human health education to study Environmental Sciences (2015)…and to skip to where we are now in this long journey of mine, I eventually got my Naturopath certification (2022)and now Functional Medicine Practitioner certification (2024). Which makes my spirit happy because I’ve come back to my roots of helping people in understanding the root cause of illness and how to attain health with nutrition, movement, lifestyle, mindset and love of self and life.
